Henna Hair Dye and Indigo Hair Dye are ancient, all-natural hair dyes that have been used for thousands of years — dating back to ancient Egypt. Unlike chemical dyes, henna and indigo can actually help condition the hair, leaving it stronger, shinier, and healthier-looking with a rich natural glow.

Henna works as the first step by covering grey hair with a vibrant reddish-orange tone. Think of henna as the “primer” layer. Indigo is then applied afterward to deepen the color into rich brown or black tones.

What You’ll Need

     -Pure henna powder
     -Pure indigo powder
     -Warm water
     -Mixing bowls (non-metal)
     -Spoon or spatula
     -Gloves
     -Shower cap or plastic wrap
     -Old towel

Step 1: Apply the Henna

     1. Mix the Henna Hair Dye powder with warm water in a plastic container until it becomes a smooth,         yogurt-like paste.

     2. Cover the container with a sealed lid to hold in the moisture.

     3. Leave the mixture at room temperature for 3 hours to allow the dye to release.

     4. Apply the henna paste to dry hair. Focus especially on the grey hair areas, but apply it throughout         all of your hair for even, uniform results.

     5. Cover your hair with a shower cap.

     6. Leave the henna on for 4 hours.

     7. Rinse thoroughly with water only.

After rinsing, the grey hairs will appear bright reddish-orange. This is normal and prepares the hair for the indigo application in the next step.

Step 2: Apply the Indigo

     1. Mix the Indigo Hair Dye powder with warm water until it becomes a smooth, yogurt-like paste.

     2. Apply the indigo paste immediately to wet hair. No wait time is needed after mixing.

     3. Apply generously throughout the hair, making sure all areas are fully covered.

     4. Cover your hair with a shower cap.

     5. Leave the indigo on for 2 hours.

     6. Rinse thoroughly with water only.

Over the next 24–48 hours, the color will naturally deepen into a rich, beautiful dark brown or black shade with healthy shine and excellent grey coverage.
